Schools

York Nightstop Charity works to prevent youth homelessness by informing and educating young people about homelessness and the issues around leaving home.

We can offer schools

  • Assemblies tailored to any age group
  • Lessons related to PSHE or citizenship

Our aim is to challenge preconceptions of homelessness and stereotypes about people experiencing homelessness, and prevent homelessness by providing information and opportunities to role play situations that can lead to homelessness.

We can tailor sessions to meet specific curriculum needs, and are particularly pleased to work in pupil referral units and with young people excluded from mainstream education.

There is no charge to the schools for assemblies or lessons.
